The word culture gets “tossed around” a lot, but we don’t often stop and ponder what it means and why it matters. Perhaps great company culture is one of those things that’s hard to define, but you know when you see it.

What makes successful culture happen? A few traits come to mind: strong charismatic leadership, team buy in,  humility, respect for the mission, defined goals, and a deep sense of shared purpose and mutual commitment among those on the journey together.

Culture starts with hiring the right people, who regardless of their individual backgrounds, are humble, demonstrate integrity, innovative, driven, ambitious for the cause, and open to continuous improvement.

Most of the time,  successful company culture gets energy from the top,  but it spreads throughout the organization via team leaders at all levels, who buy into management’s vision.

Culture doesn’t happen in a vacuum.  If senior members of a team don’t show encouragement and patience for junior members, the team will be disconnected. Likewise, junior members of a team need to appreciate the senior players, who’ve already been through “the fire” and understand what it takes to succeed.

We’re extremely proud of the culture we have developed at Genesis Polymers. It’s reflected in the positive attitude of our people and demonstrated by the fact that our team members choose to stay, grow, and remain deeply committed to one another and to Genesis Polymers.

We come to work every day, knowing that we’re going to be around fun-loving people who enjoy what they do, committed to excellence , respectful of coworkers, and fight with everything they have for our customers.

At Genesis Polymers, humility is honored, and arrogance has no place. Passion, commitment, teamwork, relentlessness, respect, and high energy define who we are. We hold ourselves and our teammates to high standards, accountable to one another in pursuit of delivering our very best, both to each other and to our customers.

Culture matters because without it, we cannot perform at our highest level, stay aligned with our purpose, or consistently put our customers front and center. It is the foundation that allows us to work with clarity, focus, and shared commitment.

The next time you engage with Genesis Polymers, remember that the strength of our team comes from a culture that is deeply lived, not just spoken. It is the soul of who we are. And because culture matters, you matter to us.

Always treat your employees exactly as you want them to treat your best customers
