  • Polypropylene random copolymers (extrusion, film, molding)
  • Polypropylene homopolymers (extrusion, fiber, film, molding)

Heartland Polymers

Heartland Polymers leverages Western Canada’s abundant supply of propane to produce 1.1 billion pounds per year of PP. Heartland is the only single-site propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and polypropylene (PP) complex in North America. This vertical integration allows for the efficient year-round production of propylene and polypropylene to meet your resin requirements.

Polypropylene is a high value, recyclable plastic that global manufacturers and converters will transform into the myriad products and tools that keep our lives moving forward. With sustainability built into every aspect of their operations, Heartland Polymers delivers high quality polypropylene products with significantly reduced GHG emissions while continuing to partner on innovations to reduce waste and increase recycling.

Quality resins produced sustainably, delivered reliably. Heartland Polymers products feature the following core attributes:

  • Recyclable
  • Excellent balance of processability and physical properties
  • Tailored balance of stiffness to impact properties
  • Excellent heat and chemical resistance
  • Exceptional price to performance ratio
  • Lower density translating into weight savings

Our polymers are phthalate-free, meeting the FDA requirements for direct and indirect food contact.

Homopolymer

Heartland Polymers homopolymer polypropylene provides excellent uniformity over a broad range of melt flows, high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent toughness and versatility. Their homopolymers are suitable for high-heat or steam sterilization applications and can be used across a diverse range of applications in injection molding, film, fiber, sheet extrusion and thermoforming.

Common uses for homopolymers:

  • Caps and closures
  • Diapers and hygiene products
  • Yarns and non-wovens for furniture and automotive

Random Copolymers

Heartland Polymers random copolymers bring more impact strength and clarity for a tougher and more durable product. Their random copolymers bring optimum performance at a broad range of melting points, delivering increased crack resistance and cold temperature resilience, high transparency and flexibility across injection molding, blow molding, film, sheet extrusion and thermoforming.

Common uses for random copolymers:

  • Clear food packaging
  • Multi-layer sealable films
  • Clear storage containers
  • Blow molding (gas phase and slurry)
  • Injection molding (gas phase LLDPE and gas phase HDPE)
  • Film (gas phase)
  • Pipe and conduit (gas phase and slurry)
  • Sheet extrusion and thermoforming (slurry)

Shell Polymers

While most polyethylene suppliers are near the Gulf, Shell Polymers’ polyethylene plant is located on the Ohio River in Monaca, Pennsylvania. This strategic production location allows convertors of HDPE and LLDPE a polyethylene supply with reduced exposure to natural disasters outside the Gulf Coast hurricane area. This new world class state of the art polyethylene facility brings cutting-edge technological innovations with logistical advantages and flexibility.

Shell Polymers recognizes that every industry needs durable and cost-effective material as well as a reliable and consistent supply. That’s why their versatile high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) are rigorously analyzed and tested before arriving at converter plants. The result? High-quality polymers that plastic converters can trust—from large-scale pipe for a construction project to plastic packaging that protects fruits and veggies.

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

Known for its high impact resistance and ductility, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) is a great option when plastic converters need a durable final product that is also abrasion-and chemical-resistant. No matter the conversion process, the HDPE used has to withstand high temperatures and successfully run on converter lines. At Shell Polymers, we take quality assurance and supply reliability seriously to help ensure our polymers exceed converter expectations.

Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)

Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) has played an active role in many markets throughout the years because of its molding capabilities, unique ability to produce complex forms, unparalleled flexibility and more. Whether working in film extrusion, rotomolding or injection molding, converters can be confident that they’ll receive LLDPE that will meet the necessary quality standards.

Blue Polymers

Blue Polymers is transforming the plastics recycling industry by offering fully traceable, high-quality post-consumer resins that meet the growing sustainability demands of brands, manufacturers and consumers.

From Curbside to Bottle – Visibility at Every Stage

Unlike traditional recyclers, they provide visibility into the recycling process, ensuring all materials are collected, processed and reintroduced within the U.S. By directly integrating with Republic’s nationwide curbside collection network.

They specialize in food-grade resins that can be reused in new packaging multiple times. This helps keep plastics in circulation longer — a more sustainable alternative to single-use recycling that often turns plastics into textiles or construction materials.

HDPE (HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE)

Specifically formulated PCR grades give your team a drop-in solution designed for product performance & process improvement.
